First Time Guide: Create Content with Equip

Equip makes it easy to turn sermons, event plans, meeting notes, and other ministry materials into ready-to-use content. This guide walks through the basic workflow you'll use most often: create a project, upload source content, generate content, make edits, and share your work.

Step 1: Create Your First Project

Projects are the primary way to organize ministry content in Equip. A project can represent a sermon, event, campaign, or any other content initiative.

Important: For the best organization and experience, ALL content you plan to create within Equip should be housed in a Project.

  1. Navigate to the Projects area.
  2. Click Create Your First Project (or New Project).
  3. Enter a Project name.
  4. Select Flexible workflow mode.
  5. Add a brief Description.
  6. Click Create Project.

Flexible mode allows content to move freely between statuses, making it a great choice when you're getting started.

Step 2: Upload Source Content

Once your project is created, go to the Source Content tab and upload the material you want Equip to use. Source content can include sermon recordings, transcripts, manuscripts, outlines, notes, presentations, and other ministry documents. These sources serve as reference material when Equip generates AI content. Uploading source content is optional. If you don't upload source content, Equip will rely on the information entered through the various prompts during the creation process.

  1. Open your project.
  2. Select the Source Content tab.
  3. Click the Upload File button.
  4. You will be prompted to enter information about the file. Apart from uploading the file, the Title is the only required field.
  5. Click the Upload button and wait for Equip to process the content.

Equip automatically analyzes uploaded materials and uses them as the foundation for content generation. Audio and video files are transcribed, while documents are analyzed for key topics and important information.

Step 3: Generate Content

After your source content has been processed, you're ready to create content.

  1. Back on the Generated Content tab, click the Create Content button.

  2. From the Create New Content window, choose the type of content you would like to create. You will begin a content creation workflow/wizard.
  3. Optionally, you can select the file you uploaded in the previous step as source content. Click Next.
  4. Depending on the type of content being generated, the next few screens will differ. Enter as much information as possible to receive the most useful content - especially if you chose not to use source content.
  5. Click Generate. Note that the Generate button will show how many credits this content will cost to create.

Examples might include a social media post, blog article, devotional, discussion guide, or sermon summary. Equip's tools guide you through selecting a source, configuring options, and generating content.

Step 4: Review and Edit Your Content

Generated content opens in a dedicated editing workspace where you can review and refine it before sharing.

  • Verify key details and ministry-specific information.
  • Adjust wording to match your church's voice and style.
  • Add or remove content as needed.
  • Save your updates frequently.

Your generated items can also be managed from the Generated Content tab within the project.

Step 5: Share or Export Your Content

When your content is ready, you can share it with teammates or export it for use in your ministry workflows.

  • Share content with team members for review and collaboration.
  • Use comments and feedback to gather input when needed.
  • Export completed content for publishing, distribution, or use in other ministry tools.

Team collaboration features allow viewers, contributors, and editors to work together on project content.

Next Steps

After creating your first piece of content, continue building your content library by uploading additional sermons, events, and ministry resources. Keeping related content together in projects makes it easier to organize, manage, and reuse materials across your ministry.
